THIRD THROWERS LEAGUE MEET IS A HIT AT HAMMERMAN FIELD

Thirty-seven athletes competed at the third Throwers League meet at Hammerman Field in Aurora, Illinois on June 15, 2019. Although the second half of the meet was completed in a heavy rain, good times and great marks were had by all.

Hammerman Field welcomed the Coyotes and Boas throwing clubs to this state-of-the-art facility. Many athletes competed in all four throwing events: shot put, discus, hammer throw and javelin. Coaches reported that it is a very unique opportunity to have all four throwing events contested at the same meet in the same venue.

Carly “Tell it Straight” Coxworth was the meet announcer. Rock and roll tunes played on the sound system during pauses in the competition. All the competitors’ distances from the meet are posted on HammermanUSA.com. The next meet will be held on July 6, 2019. At this meet, two events will be running simultaneously to help shorten the total meet time.

The Throwers League competition will continue throughout the summer. Standings are posted on HammermanUSA.com. Remember, throwers accumulate points through the season, with the champion being crowned at the last meet on September 7, 2019. The more meets an athlete enters, the greater his chances of winning the championship.

Hope to see you all at the next meet on July 6, 2019.
