Recap of the Final 2019 Throwers League Meet and Season Wrap-Up

The 2019 Throwers League competition consisted of a series of five meets where athletes from age 9 through 30 could compete in Shot Put, Discus, Javelin and Hammer Throw events. This competition, held at Hammerman Field in Aurora, IL, is one of few throwers-only meets featuring all four track and field throwing events. Hammerman Field is a state of the art facility set on 5.5 acres on the east side of Aurora.

To start the meet, Kibwe Johnson provided a hammer throwing clinic for all interested young athlete

Competition events were next. As with all other meets this year, athletes were awarded points for first, second and third place. Those points were added to their season totals to determine the Throwers League Champions for 2019.

After the competition was completed, attendees were treated to a hammer throwing exhibition by Gwen Berry and Kibwe Johnson.

The final event was the crowning of this year’s Throwers League Champions. Athletes with the highest cumulative points total for the 2019 season were awarded medals by Gwen and Kibwe. To see the roster of champions, click the button below.

Hammerman USA is a club dedicated to teaching and promoting track & field’s four throwing events. We had a great season of competitions and we look forward to nest year’s outdoor throwing season. We appreciate all the support we received this year and look forward to an even better season next year.
