It was a warm, rain-free day at Hammerman Field for the final day of competition in our Throwers League series. The field was full, with over 140 entries in the Discus, Shot, Hammer and Javelin events. Athletes from as far away as Indiana and Kentucky joined in the competition.

Athletes established many personal bests and a few field records during this meet. The men’s hammer throw saw its best competition of the season. Ben Fiser took the crown with a field record toss of 185′ 6″.

Shortly, we will send Throwers League Champion awards to the first, second and third place winners in each age category for each event. We aim to promote and encourage the “throws” events in Track & Field. We’re thankful to all the athletes and clubs that support Hammerman USA. Special thanks go to the Boas, Coyotes, Turner School of Throws and Impact Throwing Academy and the coaches who help keep our sport growing.
2022 Season of Throwers League Plans
We have some big plans for the 2022 season, which we’ll be working on this fall and winter. We are considering plans for a throwing stadium where we can hold all four events without spectators having to move from their seats. As far as we know, there is no other stadium like this in North America. Our goal is to make Hammerman Field the finest throwing facility around – a true Throwing Mecca of the Midwest. We will keep you updated on our progress.
