SECOND THROWERS LEAGUE MEET OF 2020 HELD AT HAMMERMAN FIELD ON JULY 18th

It was a hot, sticky Saturday at Hammerman Field, the site of our second Thrower’s League meet of the summer season. Despite the hot weather, personal bests were scored in the Shot Put, Discus, Javelin and the Hammer Throw. This was the largest group of athletes ever assembled at the field. Over 45 athletes competed, coming from as far away as Iowa and Michigan. The Throwers League competition has continued to grow every year as more and more throwers come to one of the finest throwing venues in the country.

Clubs in attendance included: The Boas, The Coyotes, Turner School of Throws, Impact Academy and the host club, Hammerman USA. Boas head coach, David Anderson, set a field record in the 16lb Hammer Throw of 180’ 0”. Color commentary at the meet was provided by Dan McQuaid at the Shot Put and the Javelin and by Carly Coxworth at the Discus and the Hammer Throw. Meet results and Throwers League Standings are posted on this website.

Our next Throwers League meet is Saturday, July 25th and it looks like another big one. Luke Witte is flying in from Florida to attempt to break the boys High School national record for the 16lb Hammer Throw. Good Luck Luke. Should be some great marks as the competition for the Throwers League championship heats up. Our final championship meet will be held at Hammerman Field on August 8th.
